WordCamp Asia, 2024
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the vibrant atmosphere of Taipei for WordCamp Asia 2024, a melting pot of engaging community, delightful dumplings, and enlightening speakers. WordCamp Asia is not just a conference; it’s a celebration of the WordPress community’s diversity, resilience, and creativity—and I’m here for it.
A personal highlight for me was sharing my thoughts as a speaker, covering what “Design is” to me. I’d like to give a special thanks to my friend Shusei, who approached me last year at WordCamp US on sharing my craft with others; I’m glad I did, and am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to do so.
The sessions were a nice blend of technical prowess and visionary foresight, each one contributing to a range of knowledge that spans development, design, and strategy. There were quite a few talks about blocks, block themes, and this new block-based era of WordPress.
And of course, I met many new faces and reconnected with old friends, including Jeffery Caradang, whom I’ve not met in person before, even though we’ve worked on CoBlocks and Iceberg together. Fun times!

Overall, the excitement of WordCamp Asia could be felt through the enthusiasm of everyone involved—from the tireless organizers and insightful speakers to the generous sponsors and passionate attendees. Their collective effort turned this event into a remarkable experience. Thank you.
This was an enriching experience that left me with new ideas, interesting insights, and a deeper appreciation for community.
Did you go, or tune in? What’s your take?
