PressNomics 5 was an incredible experience – one that I’ll remember for sure. I put faces to names of folks I’ve chatted with for months – even years, and made strategic (and more importantly) personal connections with the people who basically power the WordPress business economy.
I had the idea to sum up my thoughts, ideas, and takeaways from my experience at PressNomics 5 into bite-size chunks. So here they are!

Neill Feather from Site Lock presented a few powerful statistics concerning website security, including that over 60% of small businesses go out of business within six months of a cyber attack — that’s insane.
Chris Wallace shared how enforcing boundaries and creating routines helps him overcome workaholism — which we all know is a very real issue, especially in the tech/software world. Remember, more work does not equal more success.
“Your brand is what others think it is – not what you do.” — words of wisdom from Chris Lema, shared during the King’s Corner breakout session. Chris has such a unique way of bringing concepts and techniques you’ve heard a hundred times to a “real-world” level.
Aaron Jorbin shared about giving constructive criticism with a positive attitude, actionable advice and polite demeanor. Without those three elements, feedback is likely to fall flat.
