As I mentioned in my 2018 Year in Review, Jeffrey Carandang and I have recently joined ranks, doubling down our efforts to making CoBlocks absolutely brilliant. And after months of very challenging work, we finally have something to show you. We think you’re going to like this. A lot.

Introducing the new CoBlocks, a suite of page building blocks for the WordPress Gutenberg block editor.

This is the Gutenberg page builder you’ve been waiting for. CoBlocks will make you rethink what WordPress is capable of. See for yourself. 🎬

Breakthrough block system

You may think that Gutenberg isn’t quite ready yet for building full web pages yet, but I’d suggest otherwise. With tens of custom blocks, including our new Row block, this latest release of CoBlocks lays the foundation for crafting beautiful webpages within the block editor.

Using the new Row and Columns blocks, you can add one, two, three, or four column block areas with advanced responsive-controlled margin and padding settings that we’ve painstakingly mastered to provide a stellar user experience.

Resizing and nesting using the CoBlocks Row block

Click on a column, drag to resize, even nest row blocks inside other columns. Then use our new Dimensions control to add row-specific responsive margin and padding settings.

These new tools create a modular grid system for the block editor that will absolutely level-up the page building experience in Gutenberg. 💪

Design using custom typography

The new Typography Control Panel gives folks full control over a block’s typography. Set fonts, sizes, weights, transformations and more, within custom blocks provided by CoBlocks, and WordPress core blocks.

We’ve not seen these kind of tools for the block editor yet. Jeffery and I are proud to push what’s possible in Gutenberg and lead the way into a future of block-based editing and page creation.

Our vision

The vision for CoBlocks is to create a suite of blocks that help folks make beautiful websites. This newest release of CoBlocks is the ultimate expression of that vision. And we think we’ve nailed it. Join us in making waves in the Gutenberg ecosystem and welcoming the future of WordPress:

What’s next

We’re already hard at work building out the next phase of Gutenberg blocks geared towards full page layout and design. Coming up next will be a super-charged maps block powered by Google Maps, feature blocks and image cards.

Then we’ll be working on a whole new way for folks to create and add content to their websites within Gutenberg. There’s more ahead that is even more impressive than what we’ve done in this latest release. Stay tuned!

I can hardly wait to show you more!
